Denver, Colorado

July 8, 2012

We arrived in Denver yesterday after our first team century. We clocked 108 miles before settling in at our host.

The ride was stunning, and strangely more like I expected Kansas to be than Kansas itself was.

I expected more of a struggle yesterday but the miles flew by.

It was a pretty long day in hours, but I felt much less psychologically drained than I have at other points of the trip. I am very relieved to know that miles are starting to fly by.

On a side note, we stopped at a racetrack for lunch and met some really rad drivers. How many people have had the opportunity to bike 109 miles after going 127 mph in a race car? What an amazing day!

We also had a day off in Denver and it was incredible to see some familiar faces. My grandparents and their amazing friends Greg and Vivian took my out to lunch an gave A wonderful tour of Denver. Excellent!
